Wall of Honor: James R. Kerrigan
March 09, 1888 - December 27, 1928
Federal Agent James R. Kerrigan was assigned to the New York City Narcotics Office for the Bureau of Prohibition. Agent Kerrigan’s fellow agents referred to him as the “one who had run down more big narcotic law offenders than anyone else.”
On September 28, 1928, Agent Kerrigan was a part of a series of raids in Newark, New Jersey. These raids resulted in the arrest of 10 drug offenders, but it came at a cost. Agent Kerrigan fell eight feet into an airway and sustained an abdominal injury. He continued to work after his fall, but his condition continued to worsen until his death later that year.
