According to the CDC, more than 107,000 people in the United States died of drug overdoses in a 12-month period. A staggering 66 percent of those deaths involved synthetic opioids like the highly addictive fentanyl.
DEA is proud to partake in the first ever National Fentanyl Awareness Day, today, May 10. This day aims to amplify nationwide efforts to increase awareness and decrease demand for fentanyl. It is also an effort to educate individuals around the dangerous threat that fentanyl poses to the safety, health, and national security of the American people.
