Launches New Video Series

Have you ever wanted to take a deeper look at the stories behind artifacts?

Starting this month, “Stories from the Collection” takes viewers behind the scenes to explore the history associated with exciting artifacts on and off display.

With the Museum’s collection of over 45,000 artifacts, photographs, videos, and documents, there are many stories to be covered in the year ahead! Some topics include undercover operations, coca-infused wine, and the riveting story of a physician who turned into a privateer.

The first episode highlights a pair of platform shoes worn by an undercover agent. Retired Special Agent Doug Wankel wore the shoes as he investigated the use and sale of illicit drugs in 1970s Detroit.

New episodes of the series will be released monthly on YouTube and the DEA Museum website.
