What’s currently happening with B48:
Office Cleanup
As part of our May office clean, we asked employees to bring any old and interesting items to the Infrastructure Management Office. Our B48 Ambassadors voted on the item they thought was most interesting. The winner was a hard drive disk array from original the data center, circa 1989. In a not so close second place was an old temperature data logger. Who knows what other interesting objects you may find as we continue our office cleanup?

Construction Update
Construction on B48 is moving along – the new HVAC units have arrived and are being installed, work will begin shortly on the roof, and most of the internal framing is done. Now, if you walk through the building, you can get a sense of the office space layout and the large open space in the basement. Outside, you can also see the retaining walls for the Sunken Courtyard.

Circadian Entrainment
In June, GSA and partners in private industry and academia provided a presentation to our B48 Champions (leadership representatives) and B48 Ambassadors on Circadian Entrainment. Circadian rhythm is a natural, internal process that regulates the sleep–wake cycle and repeats roughly every 24 hours. Entrainment is the resetting of the circadian rhythm by exposure to external stimuli, such as light and heat. Circadian Entrainment helps us feel awake during the daytime while supporting healthy sleeping at night. GSA is working with industry professionals to help ensure that B48 provides light sources that will support employee circadian entrainment which contributes to our overall health.
