Users of the GSA Federal Relay (FedRelay) program should transition to the FCC Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS)
The FedRelay program supports persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, or have speech disabilities to communicate with federal agencies and conduct official business by telephone. The GSA contract ended on May 15, 2021. Agencies had the option to extend existing task orders through November 15, 2021, while they transition users to the new FCC TRS program.
Like the GSA FedRelay program, the FCC TRS program uses operators, called communications assistants (CAs), to facilitate telephone calls between users with disabilities and other individuals.
DOI has extended the FedRelay task order through November 15, 2021. This means that while the Department transitions all users to the FCC TRS program, employees will continue to have service available via the GSA FedRelay contract.
To avoid service interruptions, DOI employees that require these services should transition to the FCC TRS program as soon as possible. Please visit the DOI Federal Relay Transition Update page for more information on how to register with the FCC program.
