Drug testing services during COVID-19 pandemic
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a 40 percent decrease in use of our services by our customers in the month of March compared with last year. Other impacts on IBC’s and our contractor drug testing support services are as follows:
UPDATES ON IBC SERVICES AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT
IBC’s Main Interior Building collection room in Washington, DC, remains closed until further notice.
To purposely allow employees to stay safe, the Department of the Interior has instituted delays in the notifications for DOI randomly chosen employees.
On-boarding guidance released by the Department’s Office of Human Capital has allowed the postponement of some DOI job applicants’ pre-employment drug testing. For DOI Bureaus, if you need a copy of the DOI on-boarding guidance, email us at IBCDrugTestingStaff@ibc.doi.gov
UPDATES ON CONTRACTOR SUPPORT
Abbott (provides collection and MRO services response)
Most Abbott staff are teleworking from Richmond, VA or Kansas City, MO. Their mailroom is still operational in Norfolk, VA.
All third-party collection sites were polled and asked if operations had changed/stopped.
Five percent of the collection sites contacted have reported back that they are either closed or not performing urine collections at this time.
That leaves approximately 5,000 collection sites that are still operational.
All three Quest Diagnostics’ laboratories are still up and running.
The Interior Business Center is a federal shared services provider that operates under a fee-for-service, full cost recovery business model, offering Acquisition, Financial Management and Human Resources systems and services to federal organizations.
