There’s something special about an alpine start. Luke Konarzewski took this awesome photo on June 10 while on a solo climb of Mount Rainier – the towering icon in Mount Rainier National Park’s landscape. The photo is from the top of the Cleaver section on the Disappointment Cleaver route, showing the stars glittering overhead and the Northern Lights shimmering in the distance. Using a long exposure, Konarzewski was able to pick up what he says is one of the most fantastic scenes that he has ever witnessed in the mountains. Photo courtesy of Luke Konarzewski.
