Sponsored by the DOE Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP), the Energy CLASS trainings aim to build knowledge within schools to promote energy, infrastructure, and health improvements in school facilities and classrooms across America.
This library of trainings is intended to provide school districts practical knowledge and resources around energy infrastructure projects that reduce utility costs and create healthier learning environments for students and teachers, as well as to identify funding pathways for advancing sustainability across the school district.
Over 35 hours of trainings are available across the following topics:
- Fundamental Building Science
- Benchmarking and Energy Management
- Indoor Air Quality
- Procurement Strategies for K-12 Facilities and Energy Managers
- Resilience
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Business and Communication Skills
The Energy CLASS content is broadly applicable to school personnel and is recommended for those working in facilities, maintenance and operations, sustainability, energy, finance, or strategic planning.
Previous trainees have used a train-the-trainer model to provide this content throughout their school district.
