DOE Issues Mod to ALRD for Formula Funding, Extends LOI Deadline |
|
The U.S. Department of Energy has issued a modification (Mod 0002) to the Administrative and Legal Requirements Document (ALRD) for formula funding for States and Territories to support adoption and implementation of the latest model and zero building energy codes. This modification:
- Extends the Letter of Intent (LOI) deadline from November 21, 2023 to January 31, 2024 (optional template available here)
- Clarifies eligibility for implementation and compliance funding for States that had adopted codes that DOE determined to be equivalent or greater than the statutory latest model codes before the ALRD was released (September 19, 2023)
- Edits text to clarify that the start of the Adoption Bonus Timeline will remain at the original LOI deadline (November 21, 2023)
- Adds a missing hyperlink to the Registration/Submission requirements
If you have already submitted your LOI, it’s time to submit your application to unlock your funding! Optional application templates will be made available shortly, and you can reach out to our team with any questions on putting together your application package. For more information, visit the Technical Assistance for the Adoption of Building Energy Codes webpage and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). If you can’t find the answer to your question or would like to schedule a call with our team, send an email to the IRA Codes team at IRACodes@hq.doe.gov.
