Do you have experience leveraging funding and partnerships in the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)? Do you want to share your expertise to help other agencies? Through support from the Department of Energy, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is working to develop a new series of online trainings to share best practices, lessons learned, and success stories with the WAP network.
NREL is recruiting a group of 15–20 individuals with experience and expertise in the following areas to help develop a new online training series for the WAP network:
-
Leveraging funding and partnerships for WAP
- Working with utility programs
- Partnering with non-WAP community-based organizations
- Carbon offsets
- Affordable housing partnerships
- Multifamily housing partnerships.
-
Working with diverse client populations in their homes
-
Respectful client care
-
Best practices for crew safety
-
Accessible client communication.
-
Construction project management tools for WAP.
Participants will provide input on training needs and content for these subject areas, including review of draft courses. The project will be fully virtual and is planned to start in July 2023 and run through December 2023. Participants will be expected to commit to approximately 4 hours per month. Lead participants will be compensated for their labor and will be expected to commit up to 50 hours of work in total.
If you have expertise in any of the listed subject areas and are interested in participating or learning more, please fill out this form with your information by July 21, 2023.
