Please join DOE’s Consent-Based Siting Consortia for a Discussion on Expanding the National Conversation on Spent Nuclear Fuel, Aug. 29, 2024, from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM ET.
In this fifth installment of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE's) consent-based siting webinar series, panelists will reflect on how to scale-up, re-think, or broaden the national dialogue on spent nuclear fuel management. Joining the discussion will be journalists, energy policy experts, social media influencers, advertising specialists, a documentary filmmaker, members of communities currently hosting spent nuclear fuel facilities, and more. Together with the consent-based siting consortia, they will explore how to make spent nuclear fuel topics reach new audiences and move them closer to the center of public discussion. Their collective insights will help inform DOE’s efforts to site one or more federal consolidated interim storage facilities for commercial spent nuclear fuel.
Audiences are invited to listen in and, if they have perspectives to share, submit them via consentbasedsiting@hq.doe.gov.
