Fusion Energy Sciences Program Update
The Fusion Energy Sciences (FES) program is accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2025 funding through several announcements on the Office of Science website: FES Funding Opportunities. Past opportunities offered this year include Basic Plasma Science and Engineering, High-Energy Density Laboratory Plasma Science, and Private Facility Research.
Applicants seeking to advance fusion energy development using Office of Science user facilities or other domestic and international magnetic confinement facilities are encouraged to review Sections III.A.4(d) and III.A.4(e) of the FY 2025 Continuation of Solicitation for the Office of Science Financial Assistance Program. Instructions for utilizing this NOFO can be found at the top of the FES Funding Opportunities webpage. Prior to submission of a pre-application, potential applicants should contact the respective FES program manager.
A webinar will be held to provide information to the community on April 4 at 1pm ET. This will include two 45 minute sessions, with a total time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The first will be dedicated to the 'Emergent Plasma Concepts - Tokamak Research' portion of the Open Notice. The second session will be dedicated to 'Emergent Plasma Concepts - Spherical Tokamak Research' portion of the open Notice.
