The Department of Energy Office of Science is looking to fill an Interdisciplinary Supervisory General Engineer/Physical Scientist position at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Site Office utilizing a Direct Hire announcement. This position serves as the Mission Integration and Projects Division Director for the Site Office. The mission of the Site Office is to successfully manage and administer the DOE performance-based management and operating contract for the safe, secure, effective, and efficient operation of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet Office of Personnel Management qualification standards for the GS-801 General Engineer or GS-1301 Physical Scientist, including positive education requirements and at least a year of specialized experience at the GS-14 level for consideration for GS-15 level or equivalent, performing the work described in the duties statement below. Duties:
- Project Management
- Provides oversight of a team of Federal Project directors managing construction projects and facility modifications at ORNL and the contract for the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education.
- Oversees project actions related to federal real estate interactions.
- Program Management
- Integrates priorities and multiple program areas and interests with Site Office objectives.
- Coordinates and oversees Environment, Safety, and Health institutional programs including Safeguards and Security (including cyber security); maintenance, packaging and transportation, emergency management, and continuity of operations.
- Represents the Site Office with senior administration, industry, contractors, state and local officials, and Congressional staff.
- Collaborates with other components of the Site Office and the Laboratory to facilitate goal achievement.
- Leadership
- Manages a diverse team of professionals to achieve a common result and outcome, setting policies, priorities, and deadlines.
