Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, Georgia recently completed an expansion project making it the largest electricity generator in the United States.
The project included two new AP1000 reactors developed by Westinghouse which are the first new reactors built in the United States in more than two decades.
The project supported roughly 9,000 jobs at peak construction gaining valuable expertise in building advanced nuclear energy projects.
The Vogtle expansion project received roughly $12 billion in loan guarantees from the U.S. Department of Energy.
