Natural Gas Imports and Exports Monthly Report
Dear Subscriber,
In April 2025, the United States exported 724.0 Bcf and imported 243.9 Bcf of natural gas, which resulted in 480.1 Bcf of net exports.
U.S. Natural Gas Imports & Exports by Mode of Transport
 U.S. LNG Exports
The United States exported 451.7 Bcf (62.4% of total U.S. natural gas exports) of natural gas in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to 35 countries.
- Europe (294.5 Bcf, 65.2%), Asia (103.3 Bcf, 22.9%), Latin America/ Caribbean (33.3 Bcf, 7.4%), Africa (20.6 Bcf, 4.6%)
- 1.4% decrease from March 2025
- 48.7% increase from April 2024
- 84.3% of total LNG exports went to non-Free Trade Agreement countries (nFTA), while the remaining 15.7% went to Free Trade Agreement countries (FTA).
U.S. LNG exports to the top five countries of destination accounted for 50.9% of total U.S. LNG exports.
- Spain (55.8 Bcf, 12.4%), Netherlands (52.8 Bcf, 11.7%), France (52.5 Bcf, 11.6%), South Korea (39.8 Bcf, 8.8%), and Poland (29.1 Bcf, 6.4%).
U.S. Imports and Exports by Pipeline and Truck with Mexico
The United States exported 196.0 Bcf of natural gas to Mexico and imported less than 0.1 Bcf of natural gas from Mexico, which resulted in 196.0 Bcf of net exports.
- 5.5% increase from March 2025
- 2.7% increase from April 2024
U.S. Imports and Exports by Pipeline and Truck with Canada
The United States exported 76.3 Bcf of natural gas to Canada and imported 243.8 Bcf of natural gas from Canada, which resulted in 167.5 Bcf of net imports.

- 6.6% increase from April 2024
