Natural Gas Imports and Exports Monthly Report
Dear Subscriber,
In February 2025, the United States exported 686.4 Bcf and imported 302.9 Bcf of natural gas, which resulted in 383.5 Bcf of net exports.
U.S. Natural Gas Imports & Exports by Mode of Transport
U.S. LNG Exports
The United States exported 409.2 Bcf (59.6% of total U.S. natural gas exports) of natural gas in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to 29 countries.
- Europe (329.6 Bcf, 80.5%), Asia (39.9 Bcf, 9.8%), Latin America/ Caribbean (25.7 Bcf, 6.3%), Africa (13.9 Bcf, 3.4%)
- 1.4% decrease from January 2025
- 14.0% increase from February 2024
- 92.0% of total LNG exports went to non-Free Trade Agreement countries (nFTA), while the remaining 8.0% went to Free Trade Agreement countries (FTA).
U.S. LNG exports to the top five countries of destination accounted for 61.6% of total U.S. LNG exports.
- Turkiye (73.3 Bcf, 17.9%), United Kingdom (68.7 Bcf, 16.8%), France
(64.4 Bcf, 15.7%), Netherlands (24.8 Bcf, 6.1%), and Italy (20.7 Bcf, 5.1%).
U.S. Imports and Exports by Pipeline and Truck with Mexico
The United States exported 176.4 Bcf of natural gas to Mexico and imported less than 0.1 Bcf of natural gas from Mexico, which resulted in 176.4 Bcf of net exports.
- 11.4% decrease from January 2025
- 3.8% increase from February 2024
U.S. Imports and Exports by Pipeline and Truck with Canada
The United States exported 100.7 Bcf of natural gas to Canada and imported 302.8 Bcf of natural gas from Canada, which resulted in 202.1 Bcf of net imports.
- 21.4% decrease from January 2025
- 33.8% increase from February 2024
