DOE Announces $20.2 Million in Projects to Advance Development of Mixed Algae for Biofuels and Bioproducts

FECM and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Bioenergy Technologies Office announced 10 university and industry-led research and development projects to convert algae, such as seaweeds and other wet waste feedstocks, into low-carbon fuels, chemicals, and agricultural products that can decarbonize domestic transportation and industry.

DOE Announces Intent to Fund Pilot-Scale Projects That Convert Carbon Emissions into Value-Added Products

FECM issued a notice of intent to support pilot-scale projects that advance carbon conversion technologies with a high technology readiness level that are capable of achieving significant carbon mitigation via biological, catalytic, or mineralization pathways.

DOE Announces $7 Million to Advance High-Performance Computing for Energy Innovation

DOE announced $4 million in funding to be awarded to 10 projects across 8 states, along with a new $3.4 million funding opportunity for qualified industry partners to work with DOE national laboratories and apply advanced modeling, simulation, and data analysis to projects that improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce industrial emissions, and explore new materials and manufacturing processes for clean energy applications.

DOE and EPA Letter to European Commission Asking to Initiate Discussion on Regulatory Equivalence for Natural Gas

DOE and the Environmental Protection Agency co-signed a letter addressed to European Commission Director-General for Energy Ditte Juul Jørgensen, requesting determination of “equivalency” for U.S. exports of liquefied natural gas to Europe.
