Recent Announcements
On March 11, DOE announced it would provide $5.2 million in funding to 13 projects through its High-Performance Computing for Energy Innovation (HPC4EI) program to advance performance, efficiency, and vitality of the U.S. manufacturing sector and drive economy-wide decarbonization. DOE also issued a Notice of Intent to issue its Spring 2024 Solicitation for project proposals.
On March 14, FECM announced a notice of intent to launch a Voluntary Carbon Dioxide Removal Purchasing Challenge. The Challenge will call on external organizations to join DOE in purchasing high-quality carbon dioxide removal credits, following DOE’s recent commitment to procure $35M through the Carbon Dioxide Removal Purchase Pilot Prize. DOE is seeking organizations to join and provide feedback on the Challenge by May 15. For more information read our blog.
On April 2, FECM announced $75 million for a project to develop a Critical Minerals Supply Chain Research Facility. The National Energy Technology Laboratory will lead the Minerals to Materials Supply Chain Facility project, which includes participation from eight other DOE national laboratories.
