Recent Funding Announcements
On January 10, FECM announced $17.4 million for 19 training and research projects that will establish visiting scholars programs, create new academic curricula related to geosciences, and provide interdisciplinary training in humanities-driven science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
On January 11, FECM announced $800,000 for eight local governments and non-profits representing communities across the country, from Alaska to Pennsylvania, to create roadmaps toward repurposing energy assets as part of the Capacity Building for Repurposing Energy Assets initiative.
On January 25, DOE’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office, in conjunction with the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) and FECM, announced $83 million in funding to decrease emissions in the hardest to decarbonize industrial subsectors. The funding opportunity announcement includes an FECM-HFTO joint topic focusing on pre-front-end engineering and design studies that support the development of decarbonized industrial processes using innovative, pre-commercial technologies.
On January 29, FECM released a request for information that seeks input intended to assist DOE in the planning of priorities and initiatives to catalyze the development, demonstration, and deployment of carbon capture, conversion, and storage technologies to decarbonize America’s industrial sectors.
