New FECM Resources
FECM developed several new resources to support the office’s outreach and education efforts. The resources include three new fact sheets focused on carbon management and methane mitigation, as well as a blog on stakeholder engagement. Read more
University Training and Research Program Funding Available
On Wednesday, June 21, FECM announced up to $17.7 million in funding available to support novel, early-stage research and development at eligible U.S. colleges and universities, including creating new academic curricula related to geosciences and supporting interdisciplinary training in humanities-driven science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. HPC4EI Selectees
On Thursday, June 22, DOE announced $3.9 million in funding for 13 public-private partnerships applying high performance computing (HPC) to manufacturing processes and advanced materials. Five projects totaling over $1.35 million were funded by FECM under the HPC4Materials program. Read more

 Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Technology Accelerated at Step Pilot Plant
A 10-megawatt supercritical carbon dioxide test facility recently achieved supercritical CO2 conditions in its turbine compressor section – a milestone representing a significant step forward in the NETL-sponsored project, which offers a path to lower-cost power generation. Read more

 Deadline Extended! Take the 2023 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey
The deadline for the 2023 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) has been extended through July 7. The FEVS was released via email from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management during the week of May 8th. The FEVS remains one of the most powerful platforms for employees to provide valuable information on employee satisfaction, commitment, engagement, and retention. Read more
