An innovative radiological control simulator plays a key role in the training process for technicians at the Hanford Site’s Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. Called VIZRAD Frisk, the simulator allows technicians to get experience screening for contamination. Read more.


Hanford Makes Progress Retrieving Tank Waste, Prepares for Future Transfers

Workers continue to make headway dissolving solid waste in a large underground storage tank in a campaign to remove and transfer 426,000 gallons of radioactive and chemical waste to a newer double-shell tank for safe storage until the waste is treated. Read more.

HLMI Joint Venture Announces Name Change to Navarro-ATL

Hanford Laboratory Management and Integration, LLC, a prime contractor to the Department of Energy at the Hanford Site, has filed a “doing business as” name change with the Washington State Department of Revenue and is now doing business as Navarro-ATL. Read more

Doug Staudt was recently reunited with his 1988 high school class ring that went missing nearly 30 years ago.
