DOE Announces Collaboration With Tribal Leaders To Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Strengthen National Security
Tribes play a critical role in helping the United States meet its energy security and climate obligations while working to develop their vast energy, critical minerals and materials, and carbon management potential. As part of this collaboration, the Working Group will provide ongoing advice and expertise to DOE on the best ways to assist Tribal decarbonization efforts and utilization of their natural resources. DOEโs technical assistance will help Tribes spur local economic development; provide workforce training for local, high-wage, middle class jobs; and support Tribal technical capacity for fostering energy, economic, and community development opportunities. The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program will distribute more than $17.7ย million to 61 local and territorial governments to improve energy efficiency, reduce climate pollution, and lower overall energy use. DOE Announces $20 Million in Vouchers to Support Over 170 Organizations to Accelerate Clean Energy Technology Adoption
DOE announced that over 170 companies, tribes, and local governments will receive support to advance commercialization of clean energy technologies in the form of in-kind DOE-funded vouchers.
