A Message From Leadership
As we approach the 2023 mid-year mark, it is time to reflect on the events, programs, and initiatives the Office of Economic Impact and Diversity (ED) has been working diligently to make happen.
In April, ED kicked off the DOE Energy Justice to the People Roadshow. This three-day event in Rio Grande Valley, TX and Corpus Christi, TX brought together community members, elected officials, utility board members, and advocacy organizations to discuss how DOE can support disadvantaged frontline communities and advance U.S. energy security in a just and equitable way.
Earlier this month, the Roadshow continued in Port Arthur, TX and Lake Charles, LA where the nearly fifty member DOE Delegation made significant strides in promoting energy justice and fostering a more equitable and inclusive clean energy future.
DOE also launched the ENERGY Savings Hub, which aims to provide consumers in the clean energy market with a convenient platform to track tax credits and upcoming rebate programs. A one-stop shop resource created to lower barriers for Americans to access information about energy efficient technologies while also lowering their energy costs and saving money.
As we conclude this quarter, let's take pride in the progress we have made and the impact we continue to create. Together, we are driving positive change towards a clean energy future, promoting energy justice, and fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work. Your contributions are invaluable as we work towards our shared equity and energy justice goals.
Best regards,
Shalanda H. Baker
Director of the Office of Economic Impact and Diversity and Secretarial Advisor on Equity
