Submissions are now open for DOE's new Voucher Program to connect U.S. entrepreneurs, businesses, technology developers, local governments, and other partners with third-party voucher providers to advance demonstration and commercialization of innovative energy technologies. Vouchers can be used to access test-bed performance validation capabilities, industry certification testing, technical and business services, siting/permitting support, and other commercialization assistance. DOE and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are offering up to $10 million for a grant competition for Region 1 as part of the Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center (EJ TCTAC). This funding opportunity is designed to help communities and other environmental justice stakeholders in the New England states access federal assistance and resources to address environmental and energy justice concerns. EPA Region 1 includes the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, and 10 federally recognized Tribes. Learn more about the grant opportunity. DOE released a report highlighting the significant impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) on the U.S. energy economy and emissions reductions. By the end of this decade, the BIL and IRA are positioned to reduce U.S. net greenhouse gas emissions 40 percent below 2005 levels by 2030 and save American families up to $38 billion on electricity bills.
