OCED Issues Pre-Application Decisions for ERA Program Grant Funding
Today, OCED issued Pre-Application decisions to applicants who applied for the $50 million grant funding opportunity for the Energy Improvements in Rural or Remote Areas (ERA) program for small community-driven projects. As a direct response to feedback from rural and remote communities, OCED simplified the application process, removed the cost-share requirement, offered technical assistance, and reduced the financial reporting requirements to deliver for rural America and eliminate barriers preventing access to federal funding.
For the first phase of this grant funding opportunity, OCED required applicants to submit a Pre-Application by July 13, 2023, which solicited targeted information on the proposed project and how it will benefit the community. Today, OCED issued notifications inviting selected applicants to submit a Full Application, which is due on October 26, 2023. Applicants not invited to submit Full Applications will not be further considered for funding under this funding opportunity announcement.
OCED is hosting a webinar on September 7, 2023, to provide more information on the process and expectations for Full Applications.
Questions may be sent to eragrant@hq.doe.gov up to three business days prior to the Full Application deadline and responses will be posted periodically. OCED looks forward to announcing the selections in March 2024.
