Pennsylvania Issues RFI for Clean Energy Campus Projects on Commonwealth-Owned Abandoned Mine Lands
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection issued a Request for Information (RFI) to those interested in submitting concept papers for the Department's consideration on behalf of the Commonwealth to satisfy a need for the Design, Development, Commercialization and Maintenance of Clean Energy Campus (CEC) Projects on Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) controlled by the Commonwealth. The RFI also solicits initial feedback on usage of LPO's Title 17 Clean Energy Financing Program. LPO Senior Consultant Tom Hucker participated on a June 10 webinar to share more information for interested parties.

Colorado Issues RFI for SEFI Project Proposals
The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) will facilitate clean energy project development acting as a SEFI, and is opening this request for information (RFI) to the public. Projects financed by SEFI require that the CEO will offer meaningful financial assistance in the capital stack, through existing approved clean energy tax credit incentives. The CEO is soliciting open market feedback for projects or programs which are interested in collaboration on this program.

LPO's Director of Outreach and Business Development, Phil Kangas, joined several DOE colleagues on a panel at the SelectUSA Investment Summit on June 26. LPO SEFI team members also attended the Summit, connecting with many state economic development organizations that were attending to attract foreign direct investments.
The SEFI team also engaged with state officials across the country. LPO Senior Consultant Tom Hucker spoke at the Oklahoma Military Environmental and Energy Group Annual Meeting.
LPO Senior Consultant Stephen Boyd spoke at a workshop hosted by the State of Montana to discuss the state's future energy needs. Stephen also spoke at the Clean Energy States Alliance Members Meeting in Chicago.
LPO Senior Consultant Hans Riemer participated in a webinar hosted by the State of Michigan to discuss "Leveraging Federal Dollars with Michigan’s State Energy Financing Institutions (SEFI)." Hans also participated in a SEFI workshop hosted by the Illinois Financing Authority.
The SEFI team also participated in the National Governors Association Energy Policy Institute.

LPO Senior Advisor for the Tribal Energy Financing Program, Jen Lerch, will be joining DOE colleagues from the Office of State and Community Energy Programs, Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains, and Solar Energy Technology Office to discuss federal funding opportunity for clean energy projects in rural America and provide more information about program benefits and eligibility.
July 11: Funding Recap: DOE Programs for Smart Manufacturing and Battery Collection & Recycling
In this live webinar, staff from the DOE Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) will review two competitive grant programs funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that recently completed initial rounds of funding. The Smart Manufacturing Leadership Program supports states to establish or expand programs to assist small and medium-sized manufacturers access smart manufacturing technologies. The State and Local Programs for Consumer Electronics Battery Collection, Recycling, and Reprocessing program assists states and units of local government in the establishment or enhancement of battery collection, recycling, and reprocessing. Managers from both programs will describe the past funding rounds and highlight expected program impacts, and then grant awardees and other guests will speak to the importance of smart manufacturing and battery recycling. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and will receive links to newsletters and websites where they can learn more, including information about future funding opportunities from MESC under these or other programs.
