Office of Legacy Management Support Partners (LMSP) have been hard at work, planting native vegetation on LM’s mill tailings disposal site in Rifle, Colorado, as part of a pilot test to help manage pore water in the disposal cell.

Four Office of Legacy Management Support Partner administrative professionals — Michele Schmidt, Gayle Miller, Janice Maruniak, and Misty Arellano — were recently recognized for their outstanding contributions and support of LM’s mission.
Abandoned mines, left by mineral extraction and exploration of all types, are scattered across the plateau, and while these places are intriguing, they are hazardous to visitors. Few understand this better than LM field teams working on the Defense-Related Uranium Mines program.
