LM Site Wins EPA Federal Facility Award

On June 5, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced winners of the seventh annual Federal Facility Excellence in Site Reuse Awards. The awards highlight accomplishments of government agencies, partners, and communities in restoring and reusing contaminated lands. The EPA awarded the Tuba City Disposal Site in Arizona with the 2024 award in the Superfund Non-National Priorities List category.

U.S. DOE Chief Information Officer Ann Dunkin recently visited the Atomic Legacy Cabin in Grand Junction, Colorado. Dunkin traveled to Colorado to see a site being cleaned up by DOE’s Office of Environmental Management. While she was in Grand Junction, she also toured another former DOE cleanup site, the Climax Uranium Mill, which is now Las Colonias Park and Amphitheater.
