Fernald Then & Now: Today, LM's Fernald Preserve is far different from the way it was in the 1980s. You might find it hard to believe that Fernald was once the Feed Materials Production Center, a bustling industrial site where nearly 3,000 workers produced uranium metal for the federal government's weapons complex from 1951-1989.
