In December 2017, staff from DOE, LM, and the National Park Service visited the Trinity Test site on White Sands Missile Range near Socorro, New Mexico, where Manhattan Project personnel detonated the world's first nuclear device on July 16, 1945. This year marked the 75th anniversary of the Trinity Test and dawn of the atomic era.
