Hang on! Brothers Milo and Logan ride a wave at the newly opened River Park at Las Colonias in Grand Junction, Colorado, adjacent to a former uranium processing site. Following remediation, the state of Colorado transferred property ownership to the city of Grand Junction through a quitclaim deed in March 1997. As a result of DOE's commitment to clean and manage post-Cold War uranium production sites, these properties are available to the community to create beautiful amenities. The city of Grand Junction has since developed the area to include various public parks and trails, an amphitheater, and now a river park on the Colorado River featuring a lazy river, wave water features, and a beach with wading areas.
