Host Applications Now Open for Energy Innovator Fellowship Class of 2025
 The Energy Innovator Fellowship is a workforce development program that matches qualified recent graduates and professionals with critical energy organizations to advance solutions to modernize the power system; improve energy infrastructure for transportation and industry; and make the U.S. power system more reliable, affordable, and resilient.
Funded in part by the Office of Indian Energy, a goal of the program is to grow Tribal energy capacity and career opportunities across the country and accelerate the national transition to resilient and affordable energy. Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Villages, regional or Village corporations, Tribal energy offices and utilities, TCUs, and nonprofit regional intertribal organizations are eligible to apply.
Host organization applications are due Jan. 31, 2025.

Discover Science: Applications Open for Summer 2025 Undergraduate Internships
Students and recent grads may apply to conduct research and technical projects at national laboratories.

Applications are open Summer 2025 term of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science’s Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships program and the Community College Internships programs, open to all current and recent college undergraduates.
These stipend-based, 10-week programs provide technical training and research opportunities at DOE national laboratories and other facilities. Interns will learn about science and technology careers, team science, and networking, and gain the experience needed to transition from internship to employment.
The application deadline for both programs is Jan. 8, 2025.
Save the Date: Registration for Next DOE AlgaePrize Opens April 2025!
 The DOE Bioenergy Technologies Office, in partnership with the Algae Foundation and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, will launch the AlgaePrize 2025–2027 Competition this spring, with registration opening on April 1, 2025.
In its third iteration, the AlgaePrize challenges students to become the next generation of bioeconomy professionals by expanding novel solutions supporting gigaton-scale algae commercialization. AlgaePrize teams can include high school, community college, undergraduate, or graduate students working to advance algal commercial enhancement, ecological services, education, training, and workforce development.

EnergyTech University Prize 2025—Student and Faculty Tracks
$400,000 in student prizes; $100,000 in faculty prizes Faculty deadline Jan. 13; student deadline Feb. 3, 2025.
Sponsored by the DOE Office of Technology Transitions, the American-Made EnergyTech University Prize (EnergyTech UP) challenges student teams to compete for cash prizes for successfully identifying a promising energy technology, assessing its market potential, and creating a business plan for commercialization. Faculty are challenged to create innovative implementation plans that expand energy technology commercialization.
