DOE Brings Renewed Focus on Security and Affordability to the Grid
New Grid Deployment Office Leadership Team will Advance President Trump’s Agenda to Unleash American Energy
On March 26, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Grid Deployment Office (GDO) announced a new leadership team, including Director Nick Elliot, to advance President Trump’s agenda to unleash American energy at home and restore energy dominance abroad. Under this new leadership and in support of President Trump’s Executive Order, “Declaring a National Energy Emergency,” GDO will focus on strengthening grid reliability, security, and affordability for the American people. This includes exercising all lawful authorities to catalyze development of the critical infrastructure needed to the strengthen the nation’s grid.

Deadline for Public Comment on Three Potential National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors Extended Through April 15, 2025
DOE Seeks Public Input on Proposed Public Engagement Framework and Possible Scope of Analysis for Areas in Phase 3 of Designation Process
GDO has re-opened the deadline for public comment on the three potential National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors (NIETCs) included in phase three of the designation process. The public comment period was initiated to solicit comments on DOE’s proposed public engagement framework and possible scope of analysis of the potential NIETCs, including environmental, cultural, or socioeconomic effects should DOE designate any of the potential NIETCs.
