FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE's) Office of Electricity and the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Wind Energy Technologies and Solar Energy Technologies Offices issued a $6.5 million Funding Opportunity Announcement to conduct research, development, and demonstrations for innovative approaches that demonstrate real-world benefits and usage of grid-enhancing technologies (GETs).
These technologies will help improve grid reliability, optimize the electricity infrastructure in existing rights-of-way, and facilitate renewable resource interconnection and market access by improving the reliability and efficiency of power transfer.
|
|
Application deadline is on or about May 9, 2023.
Applications should demonstrate how GETs, such as dynamic line rating and power flow controllers, can address challenges associated with:
-
Reliability, through improved operation and observability of grid conditions.
-
Environment and equity, through optimized utilization of existing rights of way.
-
Decarbonization, through improved integration of renewable resources.
