This week, we’re celebrating a very special birthday—the Inflation Reduction Act has turned one year old!

Signed by President Biden on August 16, 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act has generated significant savings for Americans looking to make energy efficient home improvements, clean energy upgrades, or purchase a new or used electric vehicle.
The Department of Energy has the lowdown on many of these incentives through our Energy Savings Hub. Start your savings journey today with a visit to the Savings Hub >>>
Not only is the Inflation Reduction Act helping Americans save now, but our new report projects that the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will help save American families up to $38 billion on electricity bills by 2030.
By the end of the decade, the U.S. is also positioned to see a ~40% net reduction in harmful greenhouse gas emissions below 2005 levels, and up to 80% of electricity may be generated by clean sources—nearly double what it was in 2022!

When the Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law, it was more than just a big deal. To quote Secretary Granholm, “It’s a B. F. D.”
An example of Bidenomics at work, this historic investment in communities and households is delivering on critical climate action, creating good paying energy jobs, and lowering costs for Americans nationwide.
