Welcome!
My name is Anthony Martinez and I’m the Digital Director for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
We’re launching a new email program to get the word out about all the resources the Department of Energy has available to help people:
- Save money 💰
- Make their homes healthier and safer, and 🏡
- Support their personal network and community. ⚡️
It’s called “The Current,” and you’re getting our very first email.
You’ve probably seen news about the historic investments President Biden has made through his clean energy plan. “The Current” will help you understand how these investments affect you and how you can access their benefits. If in the next few months or years you plan to:
-
Buy a house
-
Buy a new home appliance
-
Buy a new or used car
-
Get a home energy audit
-
Weatherize your home, or
-
Transition to renewable energy at home...
...then this new email outreach program is for you!
In general, we’ll keep these emails short and sweet, and you’ll hear from us every few weeks.
Thanks for reading through, and welcome to “The Current.”
All the best,
Anthony Martinez

For the first time, DOE’s U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) is predicting renewable energy sources will account for more than a quarter of the nation’s electricity generation. EIA projects that in 2024, renewables will account for 26% of generation, up from 20% in 2021.
