Survivor Reduction to Disappear in 2023
 
Survivors who receive Survivor Benefit Plan annuity payments and Dependency and Indemnity Compensation will see a boost in their SBP annuity starting in February 2023. This comes after Congress enacted changes to restore their full payment. DIC payments will not be affected.

Changes: Optional Annuity for Dependent Children
 
Surviving spouses who elected to have their Survivor Benefit Plan annuity paid to their eligible dependent children will have the annuity revert to them as of Jan. 1, 2023 (if they submit documentation and are eligible).
