The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Survivors and Burial Benefits kit is a source of preneed planning information for veterans, service members, and their families to plan for the future. It serves as a guide for survivors after the death of a loved one who has served their country.

Surviving family members of active-duty deaths: If you have questions or concerns but don’t know where to find the answers, complete the Surviving Family Member Inquiry Form. DOD experts will provide answers and connect you to resources you may need.

Estate Info Packet Checklist
The downloadable "Estate Information Packet Checklist: Making Sure Your Affairs Are in Order" document provides a list of things to do to ensure your affairs are in order upon your death. Ensure your wishes are carried out and your family has all the information they need.

Moving after the death of a loved one can be emotionally exhausting. You may be faced with deciding where to relocate to and worried about what to do with your loved one’s belongings. However, there is a process you can follow that may make your final move easier.
