A will is vital to ensuring your wishes are honored after your death. Most people know this but may not know where to start. Fortunately, DoD FINRED has outlined the steps Service members can take to create a will, as well as the benefits of having one. You can reassure them that it’s much easier than they realize!

Earn CECs With This Year-End Financial Review

Tune into OneOp Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. ET to review the legislation and events that financially impacted Service members in 2024. This annual webinar will explore the personal finance research studies published this year and examine the financial events that had military-specific implications. The webinar will also preview upcoming changes for 2025. Note: Log on 30 minutes early at 10:30 am ET for a quick connectivity check.

Strengthen Financial Literacy With the Sen$e App

Celebrate National App Day (Dec. 11) by introducing Service members to Sen$e, the DoD’s free financial education app. Sen$e allows users to hone their financial skills while playing games, using calculators and setting goals. Military families can use it to build their 2025 spending plans and start the new year on firm financial ground.

Did You Know?

Service members can plan ahead to make tax season much easier. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) outlines a list of five steps taxpayers can take now to make the filing process easier in 2025. This helpful webpage also includes tools that tax filers can bookmark for future use and a section highlighting changes that could affect 2024 tax returns.
