February 2023
February has arrived, bringing thoughts of presidents (the federal holiday is Feb. 20), valentines and snow — depending on where you’re stationed or what your friends and family are experiencing back home. And tax season is in full swing! As a service member, visit your myPay account, where tax statements post as they are released each January. (Tip: The Defense Finance and Accounting Service recommends that you opt out of mail or print delivery, which can expose your personal information through misrouted or lost mail.)
Keep reading for more information about your taxes, including how to avoid common mistakes and how to take advantage of free MilTax services including online tax preparation, one-on-one assistance from military tax experts and free e-filing! With support like that, you’ll have your taxes crossed off your to-do list in no time!
See you next month,
