JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – More than three dozen Airmen, including one Air Force Academy cadet, have been selected for the Interservice Physician Assistant Program, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced today.

Out of 52 applicants, six officers (one an alternate), one U.S. Air Force Academy cadet and 31 enlisted members were selected for the program conducted at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Originally open only to enlisted members, IPAP is now open to enlisted, officers and Academy and Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets, said Kevin Smith, AFPC Biomedical Sciences Corps education manager.

Once enlisted members complete the program, they will be commissioned as first lieutenants, Smith said.
