A Salute to Veterans
The event will take place at the Minnesota National Guard Museum located on the 133rd Airlift Wing, July 12 at 6 p.m. and will be open to military members and their dependents. Guest speakers include -- Brig. Gen. Dan Cherry, Lt. Col. John Stiles and Nguyen Hong My, veteran pilot with the Vietnam Air Force.
Employer's Day is Aug. 4
Reservists can invite their civilian employers out to fly on a C-130 and learn more about what Reservists do in their military jobs. See attached nomination.
Family Day is Aug. 5
Reservists may invite their families to come out Sunday of the August UTA for a picnic lunch, information and activities.

934th AW affected by manning announcement
AF Reserve plans to change about 3,000 jobs in FY13
Inquiries and dialogues have been conducted with two senators and three representatives to date. February 13, the President released the proposed FY2013 budget for the US Government.
The 934 AW leadership has been contacted by two senators and one congressman in regards to the force structure announcement.
February 3, the Air Force released the Air Force Strategy and Force Structure Overview.
The overview proposes to drawdown the 96th Airlift Squadron by transferring eight C-130H3 aircraft in FY 14. The exact time or location has not been specified. The 934th Airlift Wing will remain operational and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Air Reserve Station real estate will be transferred from the Air Force Reserve to the Air National Guard.

Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) offers all military spouses

SECO Consultants are Bachelor and Master-level Advisors and Counselors who
promote and provide self-directed solutions to empower military spouses with
knowledge and skills necessary to become self-reliant in their educational
and career development.
Career Exploration SECO Consultants help spouses explore all options with
tools like Career Assessments, Interest and Skills Inventories, Portable
Career Statistics, and Earning Potential Metrics.
Education and Training Spouses work with SECO Consultants to create a
plan of action that considers Financial Aid Options, Education and Training
Program Resources, Credential/License Information, and, for eligible
spouses, the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts program (MyCAA).
Employment Readiness SECO Consultants help spouses perfect their resumes
and hone their interviewing skills. They also cover Job Search Techniques,
Relocation Planning, and Flex-Work Options.
Career Connections SECO Consultants help spouses get the right job in the
right career by leveraging existing relationships and resources like the
Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), USAJOBS.gov, and
CareerOneStop Spouse Education and Career Opportunities provides high quality education
and career services, resources, guidance and consultations accessible
through the convenience of a telephone call to 1-800-342-9647.

Heroes Weekend and Parade
Minneapolis will become one of the few cities in the United States to hold an event honoring post-9/11 veterans at 11: 00 AM, Saturday, July 28, at the Twin Cities Heroes Parade on Nicollet Mall in appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
