The commander of the Air National Guard Readiness Center was promoted to the rank of major general during a ceremony January 3.
Brig. Gen. Michael R. Taheri was promoted by Chief, National Guard Bureau, Gen. Joseph P. Lengyel as he prepares to take on the position of the ANG's director of Strategic Plans and Policy.
"I'm really proud of Mike Taheri," said Lengyel. "I'm really proud that he's going to come work for me and be an outstanding strategic leader for the National Guard. I think the Readiness Center here has become better, stronger and more adaptable, and he has done an awful lot to make that happen."
