U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Ryan Hortizuela strikes his sparring partner during security force baton training on Naval Base Kitsap Bangor in Silverdale, Wash., Jan. 30, 2013. Sailors are handpicked by their commands to participate in the three-week training that provides extra security to aid the base in the event of an increased force protection requirement.
