Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey testify at a hearing before the Senate Committee on Appropriations, subcommittee for Defense concerning the fiscal year 2013 budget at 10:30 a.m. EDT, in room 192, at the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.

Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta hosts an honor cordon to welcome South Korea's Minister of National Defense Kim Kwan-jin to the Pentagon at 6:30 p.m. EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the Pentagon River Parking Pedestrian Bridge only. Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment and Logistics Terry Yonkers, and Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment Katherine Hammack deliver opening remarks to kick off the 2012 Army/Air Force Renewable Energy Industry Day at 8:30 a.m. EDT at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, Crystal City, Va.
