New Geospatial Data Resources for
Harvey Response and Recovery

As the Harvey response and recovery efforts continue in Southeast Texas and Louisiana, geospatial information has a key role to play.

The DHS Geospatial Management Office (GMO) team is supporting a number of efforts to ensure accurate and timely geospatial information is available and easily discoverable. The GeoCONOPS and Geospatial Center of Excellence in HSIN are being enhanced as we discover new resources. One such tool is the Hurricane Harvey Response page led by the DHS GMO Homeland Infrastructure Foundation Level Data (HIFLD) support team, which contains available geospatial data and other information relevant to the response and recovery efforts. To access any of these resources, please visit the Geospatial link from HSIN Central or the HSIN Toolbox.

Other Tools Available!

At the direct request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to support ongoing Hurricane Harvey response efforts, a new publicly available Geospatial Platform resource was established to aggregate Hurricane Harvey specific geospatial content for the Homeland Security Enterprise: https://respond-harvey-geoplatform.opendata.arcgis.com

The site was developed in partnership with Department of Interior, DHS Information Sharing and Service Office, Homeland Infrastructure Foundation Level Data (HIFLD) Subcommittee, and the National Alliance for Public Safety GIS (NAPSG). Currently the site has over 50 data sets and growing. It will be maintained to ensure it has the most recent and best available open geospatial content related to Hurricane Harvey response recovery activities, and right now includes data for the following:
