ICE updates online data dashboard
ICE has updated the online statistics dashboard to include data for first quarter of fiscal year 2024, which spans from Oct. 1, 2023 through Dec. 31, 2023. In the first quarter of FY 24, the agency increased total removals by more than 160% and removed 27% more noncitizens with criminal convictions or pending criminal charges compared to the same period in FY 23. ERO continues to prioritize its resources on threats to public safety and national security. πKeep reading
ICE conducts single adult, family unit, removal flights May 17
ICE, a component agency of DHS, working in close coordination across the department including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, continued to facilitate removal flights of single adults and family units May 13 to May 17. Those included removal flights to Burundi, Central America, Colombia, Congo, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Kenya, Mexico and Peru.Β π Keep reading
Final member of drug trafficking conspiracy sentenced to 17 years following HSI, DEA Nogales investigation
On April 29, a Mexican national was sentenced to 17 years in prison for drug trafficking-conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. HSI and the DEA out of Nogales investigated the case. πKeep reading
HSI cybercrime investigation leads to former Milford 2nd grade teacher sentenced to more than 3 years in prison for possessing child sexual abuse material
A former Milford teacher was sentenced May 16 in federal court in Worcester for possessing child sexual abuse material following an investigation by HSI New England. πKeep reading
ERO Houston removes Guatemalan fugitive wanted for domestic violence
ERO Houston, with assistance from ERO Guatemala and the Security Alliance for Fugitive Enforcement Task Force, removed Jose Carlos Ortiz Lucero, a 27-year-old unlawfully present Guatemalan fugitive, from the United States on May 13. Ortiz is wanted in Guatemala for domestic violence. πKeep reading
