ICE conducts single adult, family unit, removal flights May 10
ICE, a component agency of DHS, working in close coordination across the department including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, continued to facilitate removal flights of single adults and family units May 6 to May 10. Those included removal flights to Central America, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Mexico. If a noncitizen arrives and has no legal basis to remain in the United States they will be processed and removed quickly, consistent with U.S. law. 🔗Keep reading
Billionaire sentenced to 7 months in prison and removal from US following HSI New York, partner investigation
HSI New York investigation, in coordination with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, the FBI New York, and the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation New York, resulted in a seven-month sentence for Hui Qin, a citizen of the People’s Republic of China, for making political contributions in the names of others, immigration fraud and producing a false identification document. 🔗Keep reading
ERO Denver removes fugitive wanted for sex assault and rape in Costa Rica
ERO Denver removed a fugitive wanted in Costa Rica May 7. Jairo Arnoldo Matamoros Solorzano, 47, is a citizen and national of Costa Rica and is wanted in his home country for rape. Matamoros was removed from Denver to the Juan Santamaria International Airport and was turned over to local authorities in Costa Rica. 🔗Keep reading
ERO Boston arrests Guatemalan national convicted locally of first-degree child sexual assault
ERO Boston arrested an unlawfully present 55-year-old Guatemalan citizen who was convicted locally of first-degree child sexual molestation/sexual assault. Deportation officers from ERO Boston’s Providence office apprehended him in Providence on April 17. 🔗Keep reading
Flight attendants charged with smuggling drug money into Dominican Republic following HSI New York investigation
An HSI New York investigation, in coordination with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the New York Police Department, has resulted in the arrests of four flight attendants in connection with their yearslong participation in smuggling narcotics trafficking proceeds from the United States to the Dominican Republic on commercial flights. 🔗Keep reading
