ICE conducts single adult, family unit, removal flights March 22
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a component agency of the Department of Homeland Security, working in close coordination across the department including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), continued to facilitate removal flights of single adults, family units, March 18 through March 22. Those included removal flights to Central America, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico. If a noncitizen arrives and has no legal basis to remain in the United States they will be processed and removed quickly, consistent with U.S. law. π Keep reading

HSI Del Rio investigation results in 35-year sentence for leader of drug trafficking organization
A Brownwood, Texas man was sentenced March 19 for conspiring to import and possess methamphetamines for a drug trafficking organization following an investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations. Jacob Andrew Mendoza, 37, from Mexico, was sentenced to 420 months in prison for importing and possessing methamphetamines. πKeep reading
ERO New York City arrests previously removed Colombian national convicted of conspiring to distribute narcotics
On March 18, Enforcement and Removal Operations New York City arrested an unlawfully present citizen of Colombia convicted of conspiring to distribute and possession with intent to distribute one kilogram and more of heroin. ERO NYCβs Criminal Prosecutions group apprehended the previously removed 45-year-old without incident outside of his residence in Queens, New York, and served him with a notice of intent/decision to reinstate prior order. He will remain in custody pending removal to Colombia. πKeep reading

HSI Harrisonburg investigation leads to guilty plea for a North Carolina man who traveled to Virginia to sexually abuse minor
An investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations Harrisonburg, the Albemarle County Police Department and the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led to a North Carolina man pleading guilty to one count of traveling in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in sexually illicit activities. Rayvon Birden, 26, of Raleigh, North Carolina, entered the guilty plea on March 13 at the U.S. District Court in Charlottesville, Virginia. πKeep reading
ERO Philadelphia removes foreign fugitive wanted for drug trafficking to Honduras
Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia removed Anthony Eduardo Murillo Oliva, a citizen of Honduras, with a final order of removal, to Honduras on March 18. Murillo is a foreign fugitive wanted by law enforcement authorities in Honduras for drug possession for the purpose of trafficking. πKeep reading
