ICE conducts single adult, family unit removal flights Feb. 16
ICE, working in close coordination across the Department of Homeland Security, including with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, continued to facilitate removal flights of single adults and family units from Feb. 12 through Feb.18. Those included removal flights to Central America, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru.Â
From May 12, 2023 to Feb. 7, 2024, DHS has removed or returned over 530,000 individuals, the vast majority of whom crossed the Southwest Border, including more than 88,000 individual family members. Most individuals encountered at the southwest border over the past three years have been removed, returned or expelled. 🔗 Keep reading

HSI and Haiti Ministry of Justice establish Transnational Criminal Investigative Unit
HSI International Operations Assistant Director David J. Magdycz and Haiti Minister of Justice Emmelie Prophete-Milcé signed a memorandum of cooperation at HSI headquarters in Washington D.C. on Feb. 13 to formally establish the Haiti Transnational Criminal Investigative Unit. ERO Boston arrests fugitive wanted for commercial theft conviction in Brazil
ERO Boston arrested a 34-year-old Brazilian national Feb. 9 in Saugus, Massachusetts. He was sought by law enforcement authorities in Brazil for failing to serve a prison sentence following his conviction of commercial theft /receiving stolen property. The Brazilian citizen unlawfully entered the United States near San Luis, Arizona, in June 2021. He was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol and released on his own recognizance. 🔗 Keep reading

Missouri man sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for receiving child sexual abuse material
An investigation by HSI Charleston and the West Virginia State Police led to a Missouri man receiving a decade-long prison sentence for a child sexual abuse material crime Feb. 6 at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Daniel Phillip Beckman, 46, of Watson, Missouri, received the sentence of 10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for receipt of child sexual abuse material. ERO New Orleans focuses targeted operation on 123 criminal noncitizens
ERO New Orleans officers arrested 123 fugitives during a monthlong enforcement operation.
Between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31, ERO New Orleans conducted targeted operations with assistance from law enforcement partners in Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama and Louisiana, arresting noncitizens identified as public safety or border security threats.
The targeted enforcement operation focused on removable fugitive noncitizens and removable noncitizens who present a danger to citizens, immigrants and visitors in the nation’s communities. 🔗 Keep reading
